About Me

Hi, I’m Linda Richison and welcome to my website. Let me tell you a little about myself.   I reside in Salem, Oregon with my four loving Pomeranian companions. Yes, I said four. Crazy? Maybe – long story.  Salem is in the heart of the Willamette Valley (wine country).  It is nestled between the coastal sandy beaches and the high mountain range.  Fifty miles, on either side, offers an escape from the hectic city life. My life can tend to get busy at times, so I try to balance work, spending time with family and friends, writing, reading, dancing, and cuddling with my furbabies. I enjoy being outdoors. On warm days, you’ll find me hiking on the many beautiful trails in Oregon or camping alongside the river.  It’s all about connecting with the earth; a time to bond with Mother Nature and put the worries and hectic life aside for a bit. You can also catch me at the beach, escaping from the craziness. The feeling of the sand between the toes, the sound of the rolling waves and colorful painted sunsets put me in a tranquil and serene state.

My passion would have to be helping people. It’s humbling to be able to give and support those in need. I recently lost my husband and I was blessed, and it filled my heart, to have so many caring people offer their love and support. I hope someday that I can be there for them and give back what I was graciously and unselfishly given.   To sum-up my life, I’d have to say I wake up every day, thankful for another chance to live, and excited for the new adventure; always striving to keep a physical, emotional, and spiritual balance.  Sometimes it’s a challenge juggling my daily schedule, added to what the universe decides to add to my daily routine, but life is all about learning, growing and stretching and I believe there’s always an opportunity on the horizon.

Reading has always fascinated me. The thought of words painting images in your head, and the creation of another world drew me into writing. I like to be able to design a scene and watch it blossom. Once I have a story line, and I have the book plotted out, I create the characters, the scenes and watch the story come alive on paper. I wish I could give a definite answer on how I get my inspiration and where the ideas come from. I just have to say they appear in my thoughts.

I started out with Heart and Souls, the beginning of the Spirit of Love series.  Who would’ve ever thought, Serena, a quirky redhead and James, a lost soul with a blocked memory trapped in a book, could capture the hearts of so many people? From there two more books, Lost and Found (continuations of Heart and Souls) and Spice and Sassy, carried Serena, along with her friends on new adventures–all sparked with romance, mystery, and a touch of fantasy.

A couple years later, inspired by the gifted writer Jerry McGee, came my new series Histories and Mysteries.  I was given the honor of sharing an authors’ table at the Marion County Fair with him.  I was intrigued by one of his books, It’s a Long Way to Oregon. It’s an historical novel based on the Keizur family role in the first wagon train to Oregon.  What really caught my eye was how so many people were interested in the history of Oregon–they seemed to flock to his table.  That’s when I decided to add some Oregon history into my books.  I discussed the idea with him and soon came the birth of Charm and Chills. In this book the mystery takes you back into the past of the ghost town Shaniko when it was alive and thriving.  You’ll find a picture isn’t always what it seems to be.

Next, Red Wine and Black Roses. Follow the clues in an old man’s will that take you to some historical places in Portland to solve a sorted mystery of long ago. A story to raise your spirits for sure.

So, five books later, here I am working on my newest book Back Roads and Dangerous Curves. It has a mixture of romance, mystery, fantasy with some history of Silver Falls in Oregon laced throughout. Hey, Kaitlyn, a woman with an adventurous spirit and a baby blue ’55 T-Bird with a vengeance has got to have your engine running and curiosity racing.
